The local beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde Bay provide some of the best surf in the south West and are popular with surfers of all abilities. Woolacombe is best suited to beginners whilst Croyde Bay offers more challenging surf for those with a few more waves under their belt.

If you’re an experienced shooter or just fancy learning then Ilfracome has much to offer with both the South West shooting school and North Devon Shooting grounds located within 3 miles of Westwood.

Improve your handicap
Ilfracombe has it's own challenging 18 hole golf course with spectacular views across the channel to Lundy Island and South Wales. The course has a pro shop and a very good 19th hole!

Go for a ride
On the edge of Ilfracombe you'll find Mullacott Equestrian Centre which provides horse riding and pony trecking for people of all abilities. The centre also offers the opportunity to go Quad biking around a very challenging circuit.
